The Professional Philosophy statement is the final reflective task in the creation of your Professional Portfolio.
Here you will summarize your professional beliefs and values about early childhood education after you have completed the professional development experience of designing your Portfolio by collecting resources and writing all six Reflective Statements of Competence. The Professional Philosophy Statement should be no more than two pages in length.
Identify your personal values and beliefs around teaching and learning: How do you believe young children learn? Based on this, explain what you believe your role is as their teacher/caregiver. Beyond teaching and learning, reflect and write about what you believe are the other important aspects of your role in the lives of children and families.

- After submitting the assignment, you will receive a copy of it in your email. Save it, and be sure to have a friend or co-worker proof it for you.
- Type it on the template provided, and print it off to include in your Professional Portfolio.

The Professional Portfolio is compiled independently by each CDA Candidate as part of the CDA credentialing process. The compiled resources and documents are reviewed by the CDA PD Specialist during the CDA Verification Visit.
